Active Faith

We have all read and heard the verse in James 2:20 – “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” but, have you ever heard it from the Living Bible, “Fool! When will you ever learn that ‘believing’ is useless without doing what God wants you to? Faith that does not result in good deeds is not real faith.”

Then James continues to talk about how Abraham was justified because of his faith. You know the story; he even put his son Isaac on the altar but as he raised the knife, God provided. And some believers can’t even walk in obedience and tithe 10 percent; some believers can’t forgive; and some won’t step out of their comfort zones to pray for someone…. this is not faith.

Here is the key that many forget about… Begin with YOUR faith Continue with GOD’S grace Finish with VICTORY

Ephesians 2 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith…” Faith is what we do; grace is what God does. At the cross, God’s grace came first. Everything we have needed or will has already been provided for; forgiveness, healing, provisions…everything. But all that God has done must be accepted, believed, and lived. And this is where faith comes in.

Consider Abraham. Did the ram show up just as the knife was raised, or was the ram walking up the other side of the mountain already? Abraham had no idea; he just knew God would provide. Remember this: When faith leads you up the mountain in need, grace meets in you at the top with the provision.

Don’t wait for God to provide the grace, strength, the joy, love, patience… Don’t wait for God to provide the healing or the miracle… Don’t wait for the unction of the Holy Ghost to witness to your neighbor… Don’t wait to feel the anointing to lay hands on someone and pray for them… God doesn’t work that way…He said “Go.”

That is called FAITH…an ACTIVE FAITH…

The evidence of your faith will not be the healing or the miracle. The evidence of your faith will not be the joy and feeling the love and the patience or grace.
Faith is your evidence, not the answer to your prayers Faith is activated by doing, not just believing.
